Last Wednesday's 紙きり performance was exceedingly impressive. Mr. Hayashiya is an incredible entertainer with quick scissor skills and a confident charisma. From the moment he started his act, he had my attention. The hours he must have trained to time his motions, jokes, and paper cutting talents were readily apparent. The details in his pictures were very vivid, giving every character emotion and personality. My favorite part was the projector stories, where he played music and shuffled individual images across the light to animate a scene. あしたがある was my favorite story, providing a cute and relatable tale on unrequited love that turned into romance. I hope to see Mr. Hayashiya and his wonderful act again someday!
